होली

होली एक धेरै पुरानो हिन्दु चाड हो । यो भारतमा शुरुवात भएर नेपाल आएको मानिदै आएको छ । हाल यो चाड विश्वका धेरै ठाउँहरुमा मनाउने गरिन्छ । यसलाई रङको पर्व पनि भनिन्छ । यसले बसन्त रीतुको सुरुवात र सत्यको जितहुने कुरामा विश्वास गर्छ । रिसराग तथा दुश्मनी सवै विर्सेर उल्लासमय वातावरणमा रङ खेल्नु नै होलीको महत्वपूर्ण परिचय हो ।
चन्द्रवासरमा आधारित पात्रोअनुसार यसको मिति वर्षमा पूर्णिमा अनुसार फरक हुने गर्दछ । साधारणतया यो अंग्रेजी महिनाको फब्रुअरीको वा मार्चमा पर्ने गर्दछ । नेपाली पात्रो अनुसार फाल्गुन शुक्ल पर्णिमा अथार्त फागुपुर्णिमाका दिन मनाईने गरिन्छ ।
होली पर्वका दिनमा आफना नजिकका साथिहरु, परिवार, छिमेकी तथा आफन्तजनहरु खुल्ला ठाउँमा गएर आपसमा रङका पाउडरहरू दल्ने र एक आपसमा पानी छयापाछयाप गरी यो चाड मनाउने गरिन्छ । साँझमा नुहाईधुवाई गरेर सफा कपडा लगाई, आफ्ना साथिभाई, परिवार, आाफन्तजनका भेला भएर मिठाईहरू र अन्य स्वादिष्ट खानाहरूका साथमा यो चाड मनाउने चलन छ ।
Holi is a Hindu festival. It originated in India and is believed to have come to Nepal later. Now, this festival celebrates in many parts of the world. Also, Holi is known as festival of colors. It signifies the beginning of spring and believe of truth over evil. Playing with colors is considered an important aspect of Holi.
The date of Holi varies each year according to the lunar calendar, usually falling in the English months of February or March. According to the Nepali calendar, it is celebrated on the day of Falgun Shukla Purnima, which translates to the full moon day of the month of Falgun.
On the day of the Holi festival, people gather with their near and dear ones, families, friends, and neighbors, in open spaces to play with colored powders and sprinkle water on each other. In the evening, after cleaning up and wearing fresh clothes, people visit their relatives, friends, and neighbors, sharing sweets and other delicious foods to celebrate the festival together.
