चन्द्रमामा आधारित नयाँ वर्ष
अर्थात नेपाली नयाँ वर्ष
चंन्द्रमा आधारित पात्रोलाई चंद्रवासर भन्ने गरिन्छ । यो पात्रो एसियाका धेरै देशहरुमा प्रयोग गर्ने गरिन्छ । विश्वका अन्य प्रायजसो देशहरुमा सोलार क्यालेन्डरको प्रयोग हुन्छ । नेपाली पात्रो चन्द्रवासरमा आधारित हुने भएकाले नेपाली नयाँ वर्षको मिति प्रत्येक वर्ष परिवर्तन हुने गर्दछ । विश्वका अन्यदेशहरु जस्तै चीन तथा भितयनाममा पनि यसै गरी विभिन्न अन्य समयमा नयाँ वर्ष मनाउने गरिन्छ ।
पारिवारिक उत्सव
यो नयाँ वर्ष पनि अन्य पर्व जस्तै एक पारिवारिक उत्सव हो। यो पर्वका दिन शुभकामना आदान प्रदान गर्ने तथा नयाँ कामको थलानी गर्ने रामो दिनका रुपमा लिने गरिन्छ ।
